Into Training and Work Support Project.

The Vietnamese & Chinese Into training & Work Support Project: We will co-ordinate and deliver ESOL and Basic Office I.T skills, help and advice on finding employment and accessing training to 135 Vietnamese and Chinese adults who are long term unemployed, in receipt of welfare benefits and/or are on low income. Activities will take place at our premises. We will: Work with those in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Ealing, Hounslow and Handsworth.

• Run two accredited ESOL classes for four days a week lasting a total of 30 weeks.

• Provide basic I.T support to assist users with business and adminstration skills.

• Work with agencies, including Colleges,Training providers and Job Centre Plus to provide advice on job search and accessing relevant training skills. The project will: improve self-confidence to function effectively and independently, provide language support to access services • increase motivation to access other schemes impacting on integration and participate more in society which impacts on wellbeing, broadening horizons and experience • improve access to information regarding related training resources thus improving opportunities • enhance life-skills which will assist in facilitating successful integration by helping to promote self-confidence, well-being and contributing to community cohesion.
